Ron Brasel - President

Ron was born and raised in Omaha Nebraska.  After graduating from North High School he attended the University of Nebraska, Omaha for two years.  After a time in the US Army National Guard, Ron returned to Omaha and applied for the apprenticeship program with the Steamfitters local union.  Ron was accepted and joined the apprenticeship program in 1972.  In October of 1974 Ron joined Control Services as an apprentice steamfitter and completed his apprenticeship program in 1977. 

At Control Services Ron worked in the field doing installation of pneumatic control systems until he moved into the office as Field Supervisor where he managed the installation and service divisions.   From the Field Supervisor position Ron’s next move was to President in 1987.  Ron is a member of and past President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Omaha, Chairman of the Mechanical Contractors PAC committee, on the Board of Advisors for the Unified Group and serves on the National Education Committee for the Mechanical Contractors Association of America as well as the Joint Apprenticeship Committee for Local Union #464 Steamfitters and Plumbers.  Ron enjoys golf, traveling and being with his family when he is not working.

Chuck Kopocis - Vice President/Sales

Chuck Kopocis has been involved with all facets of the control industry as it pertains to system design and implementation since 1983. Prior to entering the control industry, Chuck spent four years with Mechanical Engineering firms involved with HVAC system design. 

With a strong background in energy conservation, Chuck is a LEED® Accredited Professional and has gained considerable experience in unique control applications such as zoological displays and regulated Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facilities.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Chuck continues to evolve his knowledge of the industry through involvement in numerous industry related training courses and seminars.


Mickey Schroeder - Service Manager

Mickey has been in the HVAC business since 1978.  During this period he has specialized in HVAC temperature controls and mechanical service, earlier in his career he was the lead mechanical engineer for a local mechanical/electrical consulting firm for four years.

  In 1977, Mickey received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Nebraska.  He has served on numerous committees with the Nebraska Chapter of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) and served as Nebraska Chapter President earning the ASHRAE Region IX award for “Best Chapter President” in 1996.  While at Control Services, Mickey has held numerous positions including engineering, sales, construction management and service.  

 The service department has seen exponential growth since Mickey became Service Manager in 2000; it has done this by continuous training, innovative problem solving and expanding its service capabilities to include a number of “sister” areas of expertise that compliment our temperature control base.

Phil Fenton - Security Manager

Phil Fenton was born and raised in Omaha, NE.  He attended Gross Catholic High School.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, where he also lettered 3 years on Marquette’s NCAA Division I wrestling team.

Phil has over 15 years experience in sales and sales management; with 3 years in telecommunications and over 12 years in electronic security.  Phil manages a team of 2 sales people and 9 technicians, along with carrying account management duties on several accounts.  

Phil is an active member of the Omaha ASIS Chapter (Associated Society of Industrial Security) and a Past President of the Omaha I-80 Cosmopolitan Civic Organization.

CSI’s Electronic Security Division has had strong growth in the past 6 years, specializing in card access, cameras, digital video and IP recording, infant protection, wander prevention, and nurse call.
